Bennett Street Shutdown Notice- August 28, 2023

Please be advised:

LWSC is entering into the next phase of the WLSS Phase 3 Construction to take place on Bennett Street. This work is to install the launching pit for microtunneling of the new stormwater force main.

This work will be for a single lane closure of Bennett Street between Astor and Commercial Street for a four-month duration, beginning August 28th through January 2024. There will be a two week period (10 consecutive business days) during this time that will require a FULL closure of Bennett Street (between Astor and Commercial), the dates of which are not known at this time but will be announced within 7-14 days of the closure.

There may be periods of time where active construction is not taking place while the single-lane closure is in effect, as is the nature of this complex construction work. However, the closure is necessary for public safety while equipment is on site and the large launch pit is open or plated.

We recognize the inconvenience this may cause but are hoping to work together to make it as seamless as possible. That being said, we thank you for your anticipated understand and cooperation and will be in touch with additional information.
